This coupler fits between the input shaft and main shaft of the gearbox. There were several variants of main shaft and coupler but this one is the later design with the spring loaded pin. It is quite common for original couplers to fail; this is a known weak point of these gearboxes. If you suddenly lose all drive and hear a grinding noise then chances are this little coupler is the culprit.
These new couplers come bare so you will need to swap over your existing locating pin, spring, collar and circlip.
